Woohoo! It’s almost Vagabond time again!
The next Vagabond Indie Craft Fair will be held at Urban Bazaar on May 5th & 6th, noon-7pm.

We are accepting applications through March 25th. You can apply here, as well as get all the nifty details about the event.
We’re always on the lookout for fun “extras” too, like someone who wants to sell baked goods out in front of the shop to get people in the door, massage therapists who want to do free 5 min. massages to promote their business, crafty demos & 10 min. workshops people can partake in, and anything else you can come up with! Know an acoustic band who wants to play? If you have any ideas about something you’d like to do that’s not just selling your arts & crafts as a vendor, please email us at UrbanBazaarSF@gmail.com!

What will you be selling at Vagabond? limited edition fine fabric goods: luxurious reversible napkins, a variety of aprons in delectable patterns, sassy yoga bags and distinctive coffee sleeves.
What are your greatest inspirations? I believe everyone should have beautiful and durable goods to use in their everyday life. I look for fabrics and colors that want to sing and do my best to give them voice.
When and where did you learn your craft? I have been sewing since I was a little girl. On my desk I have a stuffed golden lion that I designed and created as a child. I put cloves inside to make it smell good and it still makes me smile.
What makes your product stand out? The beautiful fabric and fun pattern combinations are an important element of all of my work but I think the attention to detail and care I put into each piece makes them really stand out.
Any other interesting tidbits you’d like to mention? I love everything I make and I hope you do, too!

Kayte Kelly, San Francisco CA
What will you be selling at Vagabond? I will be selling handmade crocheted sea creatures and accessories.
What are your greatest inspirations? My inspirations come at unexpected times. My initial reason for wanting to make an octopus was from hearing a story on BBC radio on my commute to work one day. I decided to do the ice cream cart project after watching the ice cream men walking around Lake Merritt and the Mission a few years ago. Almost everything I make started with an idea that wouldn’t leave me alone at one point or another.
When and where did you learn your craft? My grandmother taught me how to crochet starting when I was about four years old.
What makes your product stand out? I’m not shy about being ridiculous.

Alexis Bautista aka Aya, San Francisco CA
What will you be selling at Vagabond? I will have a wide collection of my handmade items inspired by gothic, lolita, cos play, steampunk as well as nature. One of a kind pieces; such as unique feather hair extension clips, Feather and silk flower fascinator hair clips, as well as feather, glass and bead jewelry, terrariums, top hats and more!
When and where did you learn your craft? Ive been surrounded by creativity my whole life. As student of Architecture and Interior design, I was able to learn so much about just talking a simple concept and stretching it to its limit. Being mixed European Croatian and Asian, and first generation born American allowed me to still be raised with all sorts of cultural traditions. However I was always encouraged to explore beyond… I think that’s why I am inspired by so many things!!! After putting together something unusual, I am always drawn back to Nature.
What makes your product stand out? My creations are always unique and one of a kind. When I create each piece, I play with a range of materials and I like to include some kind of upcycled item to give each piece a certain patina to them. This allows me to truly make one of kind items, each a unique design that is waiting for that right person to connect with it.

Dianne Que, San Francisco CA
What will you be selling at Vagabond? Dianne will be selling her line of chunky, adventurous,
hand-crocheted accessories along with original photo prints.
When and where did you learn your craft? My great-grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a mere tween.
I made a couple crooked scarves (err…masterpieces) before laying down the
crochet hook in defeat. It wasn’t until after I graduated from college that I
re-discovered my initial fascination with yarn.
What makes your product stand out?
My pieces are not your ordinary hats and scarves. They’re bold,
chunky, and add an extra bit of flare/quirk to your personal style. The
“Beekeeper” (a unique hooded cowl) has been featured on the front
page of Etsy, Poppytalk Handmade, and in the STORQUE blog. Perfect for city
dwellers and suburban fashionistas alike!
