Rachel Radcliffe of Feather Light

Featured Artist: Feather Light

Rachel Radcliffe, San Francisco CA

What will you be selling at Vagabond? I bring together my love of vintage fascinators and Steam Punk style with my past experience as a floral designer to create unique and lovely hair clips, mini hats and fascinators.

What are your greatest inspirations?  My inspiration comes from lines and form in my materials, the way feathers flow and shimmer, and my love of flowers.

When and where did you learn your craft? It started with learning floral design many years ago, and has evolved into hair accessories recently through experimentation and playing with materials

What makes your product stand out? Nearly every design is slightly different and I rarely do anything twice.

Any other interesting tidbits you’d like to mention? I have recently been experimenting with crinoline and find it a wonderful base for making fantastical fascinators that people seem to really be into. A lot of my feathers come from cruelty-free farms, and local vendors.
